about the club

The Scottish Detector Club is based in Edinburgh, holding meetings in the Ex-Servicemens Club, 7 Smith Place, Edinburgh on the 1st monday of the month at 7.30pm
We have members all over Scotland, so those who can’t attend the meetings can keep in touch through our quarterly magazine “The Turner”
As the majority of our members reside on the east coast most of our regular outings are in the Fife, Lothian and Border regions with occasional weekend excursions to rallies in England.
During the summer months when detectable land is at a premium our members have the opportunity to involve themselves with related activities.
To promote the hobby to the general public and the farming community we hold displays and demonstrations of metal detecting at agricultural shows, etc.
For further information on the club or metal detecting in general, contact our secretary, Alastair Hacket, 0131 447 5167 or email  alastair hacket @ hotmail.co.uk (all one word, omit spaces)
